Downsizing Your Home and Your Lifestyle | Part 1

Bart and I recently downsized our lifestyle, moving from a 3000 square foot home to a condo, on the Atlantic Ocean measuring a HUGE 800 square feet  nearly!

It certainly was a challenge moving from a five bedroom home in Forest Ridge- Davie, Florida to a single cozy for two bedroom but we did it and so can you. I have you enjoy this series.

Check Your Options Before Downsizing

Many people today find the need to go through a downsizing of their home.

This happens sometimes from financial difficulties or a life change, ie the empty nester syndrome. 

There are options available when you downsize.

These options come in terms of the size and location of your home.

You might consider reducing the  square footage of your home. This can be accomplished by downsizing your home from a single family home to:

Downsizing | Interior “Curb Appeal” is so Important

Most people when they hear curb appeal think of just the outside of a home…

…but it includes the inside as well.

There are many things to think about as you are downsizing

and

getting the house ready to show.

• Your window dressing should accentuate the room as well as match the outside theme so as not to clash with the exterior of the building.
• The front door on the way into the building should be clean and uphold current day accessories.
• The rooms should flow from one into another.  As you do your downsizing look at the size of the room and how the furniture makes it look. Maybe you need less furniture, larger   furniture or smaller furniture to make the rooms appealing to the eye.
• Flowers on tables, or splashes of color throughout the home are quite welcoming. (more…)
