Trim the costs of running your home with the following energy saving tips:

1. When you leave a room, turn off the ceiling fan.

2. Now that it is summertime (well almost) and your air conditioning unit will be working day and night: cool your home to 78 degrees. To save more money, set the thermostat to 82 degrees when you leave your home.

3. Forget about washing your dishes … use your dishwasher. This saves money and water.

4. The U.S Department of Energy recommends water heater temperature to 120 degrees. Many units are set at a standard 140 degrees. Turn the temperature down!

5. Run the pool pump six hours a day in the summer and four hours a day in the winter.
