Bart and I are from Ohio…Toledo to be specific. 
Last weekend we boarded a plane northbound from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to catch up with our friends and family.
As we spent our days “at home” I was caught by the differences in lifestyle.
Here are my observations:
1. We cool our home in Florida- Ohioans heat their home.
2. Folks in Toledo open the windows in their home in the summer- we close ours.
3. We plant tomatoes in the winter- Growing vegetables up north involves planting vegetables in the spring.
4. The air in our car tires is replenished due to the excessive heat. Our family and friends in Ohio use snow tires because of the cold weather.
5. It is a novelty for us to wear boots in winter- This is the norm for Ohio.
6. We use a shovel for sand -Ohioans use this tool for snow.
7. We do not have cellars. Ohioans have that extra living/storage space.
8. It is 57 degrees in Toledo and 75 degrees in Fort Lauderdale- 7:00 PM local time!
9. The majority of our winters we spend outdoors and summers in our homes- The reverse applies in Ohio.
10. We do not have coat closets. We do not own coats!
Can you think of any other differences?Guess we are all the same.. but in reverse… Have a great weekend all!

We do not use snow tires, that is a thing of the past .We do not have cellars either ,those that wish have basements. The purpose of the basement is to keep the rest of the house more comfortable,it adds extra storage,and extra living space . People up North work hard for their earnings. We tend to be tough people. We look forward to our spring and summer.That is the time of year for us to enjoy.Seems to me the difference is you may enjoy the other seasons we do not. Other than that we are the same,except for the fact we dont live the high life,and are much happier for it!!
