While in Ohio I had the pleasure of having afternoon tea at the Shalom Tea  House in Sylvania.  The weather outdoors was chilling but the atmosphere in side was warm and welcoming. Thanks to my friend, Mary Stewart for a lovely afternoon.

 

I have been looking for such a tea house here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Wouldn’t it be a marvelous idea to open this type of rendez-vous in the Sunshine State? Anyone game???

 

 

Different But All The Same.

Bart and I are from Ohio…Toledo to be specific.                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Last weekend we boarded a plane northbound from Fort Lauderdale, Florida  to catch up with our friends and family.

As we spent our days “at home” I was  caught by the differences in lifestyle.

Here are my observations:

1. We cool our home in Florida- Ohioans  heat  their home.

2. Folks in Toledo  open the windows in their home in the summer- we close ours.

3. We plant tomatoes in the winter- Growing vegetables up north involves  planting vegetables  in the spring.

4. The air in our car tires is replenished due to the excessive  heat.  Our family and friends in Ohio  use snow tires because of the cold weather.
